Quickly and easily detect the presence of GHB in a sample with this single-use test. A practical tool that helps distinguish it from more dangerous substances like GBL.
Data sheet
Description
The EZ Test for GHB is designed to identify the presence of gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB) in a suspicious sample. It is a single-use kit, easy to use, and provides immediate results through a color-change chemical reaction. This test confirms whether GHB is present, without confusing it with similar substances like GBL, an industrial solvent with harmful effects if ingested.
This test exclusively detects GHB, producing a visible reaction when present. It is important to note that it does not react to GBL or other industrial solvents, allowing a clear distinction between a psychoactive substance and potentially more dangerous compounds. Thanks to this specificity, the test helps reduce risks by clearly identifying the target substance.
The test works through a chemical reaction between the reagent absorbed in silica (inside a glass ampoule) and the introduced sample. When the suspicious material is added, if it contains GHB, a color change occurs that should be compared with the included color chart. The ampoule is designed to provide a clear and reliable reading of the results. It is a qualitative method, not quantitative: it indicates the presence of GHB but not its concentration.
Always perform the test under white light and on a white background for more accurate reading.
No reaction with GBL: The test does not detect or react to GBL, helping to rule out this industrial compound.
Important: This test does not reveal the exact amount of GHB nor rule out the presence of other, more dangerous substances. It is recommended to use different reagents to increase the reliability of the analysis.
