Black Harlequin by Sensi Seed is a strain that comes from a combination between a Black Domina and a world-renowned Harlequin strain, which is one of the most successful CBD-rich strains in the United States. This medicinal combination was originally sold as Sensi #1318, and the growers around the world that were lucky enough to try this strain say that it’s an incredibly high quality, high yielding and easy to grow plant that can be used for medical and recreational purposes. Sensi was originally only going to release three different new strains, but Sensi #1318 turned out to be so successful that they wanted everyone to be able to try it.
In indoor grows, this strain grows quite strong and sturdy, producing a bushy structure that’s quite airy too, which allows for more light reach towards the bottom of the plants. We recommend removing some leaves at the start of the flowering period and then halfway through again – do this with care and only remove the largest leaves that seem to be shading the rest of the plant. We recommend placing between 9 and 12 plants per m2, and if grown properly it can generate over 450 g per square meter after 55 flowering days. On the other hand, it’s not that hard to grow but you’ll need to give it a decent feeding schedule in order to harvest the absolute most per square meter. You’ll need to keep careful control over the humidity throughout the last couple of flowering weeks, as its flowers grow large and dense.
In outdoor grows, growing straight in the ground at the start of the season, you can harvest plants that grow over 2 m tall with plenty of side branches, which allows you grow plants that are incredibly wide – you can harvest over 700 g per plant when done right. We recommend training its structure to keep its branches nice and strong and you’ll definitely need to take care when it comes to caterpillars – its flowers are incredibly large, and it can be hard to find these insects at times, and you may end up with rotting plants without even realizing it. Apart from that, it doesn’t need much care at all and you can easily top it if you want to, or use SCRoG Nets Per Meter – 2m Wide, or even grow it from June onwards if you’re growing on a balcony or on a roof and need discretion. It should be ready to harvest towards October.
The organoleptic properties of this strain can be perceived from the start of the cultivation process. It's easy to notice clear floral and forest scents during its development, fresh and sweet. Such aromas are boosted during the flowering period and the curing process, where it adds a pungent earthy touch. Regarding its flavors, it features a floral taste with a sweet background with some intense woody tinges.
Thanks to its 1:1 ratio and its 40/60 indica/sativa combination, its effect is both physically and mentally relaxing without ending up too strong or intense. This strain is perfect for those looking to start consuming medicinal cannabis. In as far as aroma, this strain produces earthy and floral tones accompanied by an intense, wet earth aftertaste.
