The HI98331 Hanna Gro Line EC Soil Tester is designed to allow growers to get exact measurements of the amount of EC in their growing medium. You’ll be able to get incredibly precise readings. It’s easy to use and is incredibly useful. Controlling the parameters in your growing medium is incredibly decisive when it comes to good or bad results.

Manufactured from stainless steel for higher quality and precision

This small tester has a simple yet practical design. It has two parts; the head, which has an LCD screen and which also shows the EC values as well as calibration values. The second part is the probe itself, made out of stainless steel. Its 114mm long, and can easily be used with any kind of substrate or soil.

In order to use it correctly, you first need to calibrate it in order to make sure that it works perfect from the get-go. Remove the cover and turn on the device by pressing the only button on the device. If you hold down the button you’ll see the letters CAL; use Calibration Solutions in order to adjust it. Next, all you have to do is clean the probe and you’re ready to go.

In order to measure EC directly in your plants’ substrate, it’ll need to be slightly humid – right after watering is a great time to do so. If you absolutely need to measure EC but you don’t need to water yet, use distilled water on the area in which you want to measure EC. It may take a moment to stabilize, simply wait a few seconds. Once finished, we recommend cleaning the probe with distilled water.
