Mango Pepper by French Touch Seeds is a strain that was selected and bred by Breeders Bourbon in order to produce a sativa strain that’s stable and capable of producing spicy, black pepper flavors. This peculiar strain comes from a special Mangu Karot selection that produces intense mango and carrot aromas, and a male Pepper Mauve strain that’s incredibly popular on Reunion Island. The resulting plant is a 100% sativa strain that’s super potent and produces intense aromas.
Indoors, as is common with pure sativa strains, we recommend growing them with your lights set straight to bloom or else it may grow too massive; this strain is easily capable of growing over 1.5m tall. Its structure is perfect for the SCRoG technique, although to successfully pull this off you’ll need to flip them to flower once the trellis is about 30/40% covered. When grown right, you can harvest over 400g after having gone through quite a long flowering period of over 110 days.
It’s a lot less complicated to grow outdoors, although outdoors you’ll need to be careful with its height if you’re looking for discretion – it can grow up to 3m tall. We recommend growing it from July onwards if you want to keep it shorter, or training the branches out and to the sides using stakes and strings. It should be ready to harvest towards the end of November, producing over 500g, dealing pretty easily with issues such as fungi thanks to the shape of its flowers.
This strain has a spicy, slightly pungent aroma – once you’ve ground up its buds, it smells intensely of black pepper with subtle sweet tones that you’ll be able to taste when smoking it too. The effect is long-lasting and almost immediate – just a couple of drags and you’ll start feeling it reach each and every part of your body, eventually turning into an intense energetic high.
