CBN is a minor cannabinoid that it is only present in small amounts in cannabis plants. It was first discovered at the end of the XIX century but its molecular structure wasn’t figured out until the mid-40’s during the XX century.
Cannabinoids are a group of metabolites that interact with the brain’s receptors to create different effects.
Marijuana is still very unknown, new strains are coming out all the time and the same goes with cannabinoids.
Cannabinol History
Cannabinol is a non-intoxicating compound that forms when THC ages. It has a solid and crystal-clear appearance and can’t be seen inside cannabis. For that it is usually present in higher amounts in older cannabis plants (no other plant in the world has this type of cannabinoid) but its maximum content even in the best of circumstances is only 1%.
CBN isn’t included in the Single Convention of Narcotic Drugs of 1961 therefore it is technically not illegal.
CBN is illegal in some places because it comes from THC but in others it is just a hemp product. It is one of the many contradictions around the cannabis world.
How is CBN Formed?
As it was mentioned above, CBN is formed with THC’s degradation, but when does that degradation take place?

If you want CBN to show, cannabis plants need to mature out in the open air and without using any conservative methods to be able to obtain more CBN.CBN has a 77 Celsius degrees fusion temperature and 185 Celsius Degrees boiling temperature.
Therapeutic Effects of CBN
Cannabinol studies are so far inconclusive as to what effect can this cannabinoid produce. Trials performed in animals haven’t been clear.
A trial performed by the Washington University with animals affected by ALS took place in 2008. The animals took 5mg/kg daily and while CBN did delay the symptoms for two weeks, it wasn’t effective once the illness was fully present.
Studies of dubious origin showed that CBN could have very powerful and sedative effects but scientists believe that such effect comes from aged THC rather than CBN. Those studies also mention that it’s an effective painkiller and that it can have anti-inflammatory and appetite stimulant properties, but unfortunately nothing has been proven.
What is definitely clear is that different cannabinoids could have plenty of uses.The main problem is that no one wants to help finance the needed studies.
What Effects does CBN Produce?
Plenty of the benefits previously associated with CBN could well be coming from other cannabinoids. Some studies performed in previous years have “proved” that CBN doesn’t cause any effects in humans.
Reputable studies would be necessary to stop fraud regarding this one and other cannabinoids and cannabis products.
Rich in CBN Strains
Any strain with THC will have some amount of CBN after degradation takes place.
We have chosen four strains that are high in THC so the obtained CBN would also be higher than average.
Y Griega:
This strain can have up to 27% of THC. It has very active effects to start with but it will slowly sink into a soft and pleasant relaxing feeling.
Growing it indoors it can reach 1.60m height and give a yield of 500gr/m2. Outdoors it can get to be 3m tall and yield up to 1kg per plant.
San Fernando Lemon Kush:
This strain was first known in 2017 and it has been created by crossing famous legendary strains like for example OG Kush. It can have up to 25% THC.
When growing it indoors it can reach 1m height and yield up to 600gr/m2. Outdoors it can grow to 2m high and yield up to 700gr per plant.
Deep Neville Regular:
THC content in this strain is around 22%. Growing it indoors it can reach 1m and yield around 450gr/m2 while outdoors it can get to 3m of height and yield 450 per plant.
Larry OG S1 100% Feminised:
This strain has 24% THC and it gives a powerful high that can calm muscle pains.
When growing it indoors it can reach 1.5m and yield around 400gr/m2. Outdoors it can reach 2.5m and yield between 400-800 per plant.
